Preservation & Innovation
The U.S.K.A.

Welcome to the official site of the United States Kenpo Academy.  The U.S.K.A. and its martial arts system was founded by 8th Degree Black Belt and United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame Inductee Mr. Robert Attebury.   Robert Attebury has over 39 years experience in the martial arts.  Mr. Attebury is the current  U.S.K.A. President and resides with his wife and family in Claremore Oklahoma.

     We teach no nonsense, street-wise self defense.
    Our aim is to impart the skills upon our students that will get them out of a bad situation quickly.

The Academy aims to instill the necessary fighting skills that will allow its students to be victorious in modern day street fighting confrontations.  The U.S.K.A. self defense system incorporates the highly effective art of kenpo karate supplemented with the ground fighting art of Jiu-Jitsu as well as other martial art disiplines forming a system second to none.

                                                         The Official Art of the U.S.K.A. is known as American Tuai Fou Combat Kenpo

                                                           "I come to you with only Karate, empty hands, I have no weapons,
                                                            but should I be forced to defend myself, my principles or my honor,
                                                                  should it be a matter of life or death, of right or wrong;
                                                                    then here are my weapons, Karate, my empty hands"

"The above Creed has become an accepted Code for many Martial Artists.  It denotes the Marital Artist's way of life in todays environment.  The use of the words right or wrong leaves no margin for clemency, but to defend one's self.  A matter of life or death means strict adherence to survival in protecting loved ones or self even if it means death to the adversary should no alternative be left.  Principles must be upheld and protected, for without them the very core and soul of man is valueless.  Honor motivates a Martial Artist to action because it gives him dignity.  Empty hands (as well as other body weapons) are the substitutes that a Martial Artist uses in place of man made weapons to sustain honor.  Discipline developed through training without weapons implants justice and discretion when applying the Martial Arts.  Thus the above Creed acts as a regulatory guide in aiding the Marital Artist in developing a keen sense of justice."
